The Strategic Solution
Mark Stephen approached BDG with its innovative digital marketplace ideas to encourage sales despite the closure of in-person gatherings and shopping. We pushed digital technology to develop a virtual bazaar featuring inviting new content and interactive virtual guest experiences, ultimately leading to online retail shopping and sales for the worldwide consumer brands represented. Additionally, Mark Stephen designed the virtual marketplace to drive advertising and sponsor revenue to BDG entities (Bustle, W, Elite Daily, Nylon, Inverse, and Romper).
We created and produced a UI/UX world simulating a ski chalet village. Each chalet featured a sponsor's custom-designed virtual shop for BDG advertisers (Gap, Carolina Herrera Fragrance, Amazon Prime Video, Samsung, Unilever, Kohl’s, Intimissimi). A strategic focal point, the mainstage chalet entertained and engaged with BDG-branded content, such as gifting videos and music from Elite Daily, Bustle, and Romper. Virtual activations presented consumers with quizzes, stories, a digital photo booth, and videos. Daily prize drawings from sponsors encouraged repeat visits.
