Founder & Creative Director
With a BFA in Graphic Design and an MBA in Marketing, Mark Testa began his career by creating store exhibits & promotions for New York’s most celebrated retailers before joining Condé Nast for eight years. At Condé Nast Traveler & Details Magazines, Testa produced unforgettable events all over the world including Hong Kong, Berlin, Milan and Rio de Janeiro. In 2001, Testa founded Mark Stephen to leverage his background & expertise, striving to bring brands to life with powerful interactive environments.
For ten years, Lucy produced programs and managed operations for top publishing companies including Time Inc. and Conde Nast. During her seven-year tenure at Essence Magazine, she produced signature events and was responsible for all branding for the annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. In addition to raising two boys, she’s actively involved in various fundraising activities. Cummings is currently the senior producer on client accounts and the main contact for sponsor activation.
Susan Martin is an event planner and producer with over 20 years of experience. A reformed publicist, she has worked around the world with brands including Conde Nast Traveler, Departures, Teen Vogue, Wired, Women’s Health, Ann Taylor, Bentley, Golden Globes, and United Arab Emirates. Individual client event executions have included everything from large events, destination weddings to backyard BBQs and corporate meetings. Susan believes the devil is in the details but that “finding the fun” in every event is what each guest will remember.
Fred Allen has been working with Mark Stephen for over 10 years. After obtaining a B.A in communication arts & design, Fred began to work as a designer at Details Magazine where he was later named promotion art director. He then became art director for marketing at FHM, Allure Magazine & served as creative director for Time Inc.’s Essence Magazine for six years. More recently, Fred worked as a global marketing design professional on international campaigns for Dow Jones and it’s many premier brands ranging from The Wall Street Journal to Barron’s.
Mariusz has been involved in the event industry for 12 years. He has provided his expertise in technical direction, materials research, purchasing and overall troubleshooting on large-scale projects for MTV, Tribeca Film Festival, Fashion Week, Citi, South Africa’s Tourism Board, The Winter Village at Bryant Park, and many others. He is a resourceful individual who is always motivated and excited to tackle new challenges & opportunities. In between projects, Mariusz makes sure to find time to live a happy & healthy lifestyle through travel & exercise.
Danny Shaw is an interactive designer, producer and marketing professional based in New York City. In addition to running 5line Designs, he serves as an adjunct professor teaching advertising design and communication at his alma mater, CUNY New York City of Technology. Shaw, who received a bachelor’s degree in communication design, is also a skilled fine artist with an associate in applied science degree in illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Jennifer has worked with Mark Stephen as an Assistant Producer, performing day-of-event execution, acted as a brand ambassador, and has worked as a public relations liaison. Jennifer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, and has a background in Medicine. In addition to building her skills, Jennifer has a passion for travel, food/drink, and enjoys learning about different cultures and traditions, which can be seen through her creative work. Jennifer is the main liaison when handling clients on the west coast.
Jeff Scala has been working with Mark Stephens for over 10 years. Scala works with visual communications providing our clients with stunning wide and grand format digital prints, pop-up displays, dimensional letters and a variety of signage. Clientele includes Fortune 500 companies, retailers, event companies and individuals. Jeff has become a vital part of the team here at Mark Stephen impressing clients with his digital and design capabilities.
